Hosted Platforms are the common Blog Engines that people are using like:
- Typepad
- Livejournal
- Myspace
- Wordpress
- Blogger
Surely as I write this post, there are already so many platforms available, but I am just listing the blog engines that I know.
Now most of these engines offer Free Solutions, or sometimes paid with little extra features. They are good, especially for beginners because you don't do most of the technical stuff. Once you finish filling out the sign up form, YOU'RE DONE!!!. Plus posting content is soooooooo easy!! Write your post, click Publish, and there we go again!! DONE!!!
Certainly true that in this world nothing is FREE!!! If ever there are free stuff it's limited, and one of that limitations is that you are not able to create a stand alone (.com) domain. In the case of Blogger, (myonlinejobspot.blogger.com), see what I mean? Instead of having the stand alone (.com) at the end, (blogger.com) is added. With the (blogger.com) in your domain address, it will have a negative impact when it comes to a professional stand point. Though I'm not saying that the latter doesn't look professional, what I am saying is that people prefer the (.com) domain.
Aside from the URL, one of the downsides of free host blog engine is that when the server shuts down, you lose everything. That is why if you're into Free Hosting Service, better choose the famous ones which are Blogger.com (powered by Google) and Wordpress.com (powered by? I have NO IDEA!! :p)
Next Post is all about Self Hosted Blog Engine so keep in touch!!
